Books Have Arrived

Yey! TGIF!

It was late in the afternoon when someone called and he said there’s a delivery for me. I know I wasn’t expecting any delivery that day until he mentioned that it’s books! Been waiting for it for almost two weeks and I almost forgot.

Nonetheless, I was happy and excited! We’ve been waiting for it. But actually I have mixed feelings with the arrival of the books. Happy and kinda worried. Why? Because it means, here comes the real work. Coming from a progressive school in preschool then moving up to grade 1 with the traditional school curriculum, it was overwhelming! A lot of subjects and books.

I didn’t open the package right away. I disinfected it and let it stayed overnight before I open it. I exposed the books from the rays of the sun. Then on Sunday, I disinfected the front and back covers of the books. Hhhmmm… kinda concerned if the books are free from any harmful contaminants. According to WebMD,  when it comes to paper surfaces, the strains of c o r o n a -v may live for a few minutes or up to 5 days. Just a paranoid mom here. Of course, the safety of my family are at stake whenever we receive deliveries from outside.  So it’s better to be extra careful than sorry. But the most powerful solution is prayer. I prayed for the books, for our safety and protection.

I stared at the books and I stared at it again until I have decided to put a cover on it the next day without letting my son touch it. I really can’t wait. I want to see the contents and such. Also, covering books is one of my favorite things to do. So while my son was answering some worksheets, Teacher Mommy was happily doing her stuff. And when his done, I’m done! Now we are ready to use it on the next few days.
