Prayer Wheel

Craft Activity : Prayer Wheel

Our lesson was about the Bible telling us how to pray. The values inculcated was to learn how to pray properly.

As Jesus taught us to pray with pure heart and clear intentions, He also taught us to pray ‘The Our Father’ or ‘The Lord’s prayer’. In addition to it, here are some suggestions on how to pray to God from The Teacher’s Manual Following God Discover Series Book for Grade 1. Pray to God by simply talking to Him as if we are talking to a friend. Pray anything to God. There is no big nor small for God and He listens to all our prayers. Moreover, pray anywhere, everywhere at anytime.

It is important to understand the value of prayer in our lives to know God’s direction and His will.

To learn more on ways to spend time with God, we made a prayer wheel craft that will help him in praying. This activity was from the Teacher’s Manual Following God Discovery Series Book for Grade 1 and courtesy of http://www.christianitycove.com.

Here are the meanings of the drawings in the prayer wheel.

Cross : thanking God for forgiveness

Happy face : praying for the people in our lives

House : thanking God for all the things He has given us that we enjoy

Heart : God’s love or our love for God

Rainbow : God’s promises to us

Hand print : Ways that we can help others

“For your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
Matthew 6:8b (NIV)
